The word coaching is derived from the word coach. This term in turn comes from the English- speaking area and its translation is something like coach.

The term coaching designates a consultation process carried out on a process-related level on a basis completely tailored to the person to be advised. The approach of coaching itself is directed to person groups active in the management field of a company and maybe in leadership positions as well. The aim of coaching is to support customers in the expansion of their abilities to self-regulation. That does not mean anything else than that the customers are made aware of how to help themselves better in the future. For this purpose, an expansion of the abilities of perceiving, consciousness, ability to exercise reflection and of responsibility is important. The work approaches of coaching are obvious and can be understood by the customer. A procedure which would mean a manipulation of the person opposite cannot be found in the field of coaching. It is not desired, as awareness encouragement and assuming responsibility by the customer would be subject to negative influences and thereby hindered.

Support is provided here by processes controlled by the customer himself, enabling him a new orientation in the professional environment. As already mentioned above, the aim is to enable the customer to help himself on his own. Fields and resources the client has not yet recognized are discovered, are made subject of discussion and thus become applicable for the client. As far as the content is concerned, coaching usually orientates according to subject matters of the client’s professional life. An experienced coach has already managed to gain a great degree of experience in the field of methodology and is in the position to prove them as well. Thanks to this prerequisite he is able to adapt the consultation to the respectively underlying initial situation and to lead it. The coaching first of all aims at building up the ability for own reflection. Coaching is oriented by the client and his personality and processes available as a starting point. This kind of consultation can be found in the professional segment, with the target to provide all employees the possibility of a company to do their utmost for it with their whole efficiency . The managing persons of the company are supposed to learn to optimally use available possibilities within the scope of their employees and to move them forward .
